Plateau killings: Attackers Yet to be Identified, says Mutfwang After Briefing TinubuPlateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, on Wednesday said authorities and security agencies have yet to identify those responsible for the recent killings in Angwan community in the state. The governor made the disclosure while speaking to journalists after a meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.Mutfwang said he visited the President to provide a firsthand account of the incident and update him on steps taken so far to restore calm.He described the Sunday attack as unfortunate but noted that the situation had been brought under control, with victims evacuated to the mortuary and some families already burying their dead.He added that a curfew imposed in the aftermath of the violence was relaxed on Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., although security forces had to intervene to stop looters who attempted to disrupt peace earlier in the day.According to him, the President was deeply moved by the incident, commiserated with the people of the state, and is considering a personal visit to Plateau to sympathise with victims.Mutfwang also revealed that the President had approved additional measures to be implemented in collaboration with security agencies to prevent further attacks. On efforts to uncover the perpetrators, the governor said investigations were ongoing but no arrests had been made.He stressed that the attack involved multiple factors, noting that authorities would only determine the exact motive after engaging both victims and suspects.Describing the killings as barbaric, Mutfwang condemned the act as criminality and terrorism, insisting that no religion or cause justifies such violence. He assured residents that the government would intensify efforts to bring those responsible to justice and prevent a recurrence.
