2027: No Panic Over My Re-election, Otti Tells Abia Residents

Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has urged residents not to be anxious about his re-election prospects in 2027, emphasizing that political power ultimately rests with God.Speaking during a service at Unity Chapel, Government House, Umuahia, the governor reassured the people that there was no reason to fear a return to what he described as the state’s undesirable past.“I would like to assure everyone that nobody should panic,” Otti said. “Power belongs to God, and He gives it to whom He wills. No human effort can change what God has ordained.”He stressed that regardless of political permutations, divine will remains supreme, noting that even large numbers of people cannot alter God’s direction. While expressing confidence, the governor acknowledged that challenges may arise but maintained that such difficulties are part of a broader divine process. In his homily, Pastor Kennedy Iheoma of the Aba North Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, who preached from Acts 28:1–6, stated that anyone on a divine mission cannot be stopped by opposition.Drawing a parallel with the biblical account of Apostle Paul surviving a viper’s bite, the cleric said no adversity could derail a God-ordained assignment. He described Otti’s leadership as divinely inspired and focused on improving lives, adding that his administration has brought hope and relief to many residents.Pastor Iheoma also encouraged the governor to remain steadfast despite challenges, assuring him that obstacles are inevitable but not insurmountable.
