The newly appointed Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Abdul’Aziz Yari, has assured Nigerians that President Bola Tinubu will fulfil the promises made during the 2023 election campaign.
Yari, a former Zamfara State governor and former Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, spoke on Sunday at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, shortly after returning from an overseas trip.
He was received by a large gathering of APC supporters following the announcement of his appointment.
“I want to assure Nigerians that whatever promise we made during campaign, we shall keep to our promises. Today we have seen him [Bola Ahmed Tinubu] as President today and by God’s grace he shall be the president come 2027,” Yari said.
He described the reception as an expression of solidarity and prayers for the President and the APC.
“The crowd is here to pray for me and for the success of Mr President. Our party is synonymous with keeping to our words,” he said.
Yari also prayed for wisdom for the President and pledged that the APC would continue to honour its campaign commitments.
“We assure Nigerians that we shall fulfill all our campaign promises,” he said.
He expressed optimism that the APC would remain in power beyond Tinubu’s second term.
“We pray that our party will continue to be the party to lead the country after President Tinubu’s second term,” he added.
His appointment is expected to strengthen the APC’s campaign machinery ahead of the 2027 general elections.
