President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Nairobi, Kenya, to participate in the Africa Forward Summit, a high-level gathering focused on strengthening economic cooperation and development across the continent.
According to a statement by presidential spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, the President’s aircraft landed at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport at about 12:18 a.m. local time on Monday.
Tinubu was received on arrival by Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, Musalia Mudavadi, the Kenyan High Commissioner to Nigeria, Isaac Parashina, senior government officials, and members of Nigeria’s diplomatic mission in Kenya.
The summit, which is being co-hosted by Kenyan President William Ruto and French President Emmanuel Macron, brings together African leaders, policymakers, business executives, and development partners to explore pathways for economic transformation, trade expansion, digital innovation, infrastructure development, climate action, and regional prosperity.
President Tinubu’s participation, according to the Presidency, reflects Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening African unity and advancing collective solutions to shared challenges across the continent.
He is expected to hold bilateral and multilateral meetings on the sidelines of the summit aimed at deepening Nigeria’s diplomatic, trade and investment ties with other African nations and global partners.
The Presidency said the engagements align with Nigeria’s Renewed Hope Agenda and its push for increased international cooperation on development priorities.
Tinubu is accompanied on the trip by a delegation of ministers and senior officials, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bianca Ojukwu; Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari; Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola; Minister of Environment, Balarabe Abbas Lawal; Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole; and Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Bosun Tijani.
Others in the delegation include the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC), the Minister of State-designate for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, the Director-General of the National Council on Climate Change, Mrs.
Omotenioye Majekodunmi, and Nigeria’s Ambassador to France, Ambassador Ayodele Oke.
The Africa Forward Summit is expected to produce frameworks for enhanced cooperation on sustainable development and regional integration across Africa.
