The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has reassured prospective tertiary institution applicants that candidates who previously uploaded their O’Level results will not be required to upload them again or obtain a new verification code.
The clarification followed concerns among candidates over JAMB’s newly introduced O’Level result verification system.
In a statement issued by its Acting Director, Public Affairs and Protocol, Dr Fabian Benjamin, the Board said results uploaded under the previous arrangement remained valid and would continue to be recognised on its admission platform.
JAMB warned candidates against unnecessary repeat uploads, stressing that the new verification arrangement did not invalidate results already captured on its system.
According to the Board, “all candidates who have previously uploaded their O’Level results do not need to re-upload their results or obtain a verification code again.”
It said the clarification covered candidates who uploaded their results during the ongoing registration exercise, those who uploaded them following the release of the latest WAEC results and applicants whose results had been submitted in previous admission cycles.
The development is expected to ease concerns among thousands of candidates who feared that failure to obtain the newly introduced verification code could affect their admission prospects.
JAMB explained that the new verification system was introduced to strengthen the integrity of O’Level results and prevent the use of fake or falsified certificates during the admission process.
“The new verification process is designed to further strengthen the integrity of O’Level results and ensure that no falsified result is accepted into the admission process,” Benjamin said.
He added that results previously uploaded would remain available for consideration during admission, subject to verification by individual institutions where necessary.
The Board urged candidates not to panic or repeatedly upload their results simply because they were submitted before the new verification system was introduced.
