Candidates seeking admission into Nigerian tertiary institutions through the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) can now verify and upload their O’Level results from home under a new digital initiative introduced by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
The initiative, which initially covers results issued by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), is designed to reduce candidates’ dependence on Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres for O’Level result uploads.
Under the new arrangement, JAMB will electronically verify candidates’ results directly with examination bodies before uploading them to their profiles.
The Board, through its Acting Director of Public Affairs and Protocol, Dr Fabian Benjamin, said the initiative was designed to make the process easier, faster, safer and more convenient.
According to JAMB, the system would also address problems involving misplaced certificates, fraudulent results and errors in the manual entry of subjects and grades.
Through integration between JAMB’s e-Facility platform and examination bodies, candidates’ results will be checked against official records before being uploaded.
The Board said candidates must first obtain a result verification code through the designated verification platform.
They are required to provide their National Identification Number, select the number of O’Level sittings and examination body, enter their email address and GSM number and make the required payment.
Candidates must then provide their examination number, examination series and examination year, after which their results will be verified and a Verification Code issued.
At the next stage, candidates are required to send “VERIFY” followed by the Verification Code to 55019 or 66019.
Candidates with two sittings will subsequently log into their JAMB e-Facility dashboard and select “2026 UTME O’Level Upload.”
After entering the verification code, the verified results will be displayed, enabling candidates to select the required subjects.
JAMB said candidates must select a minimum of five and a maximum of nine subjects, with no subject selected more than once.
A notification will be sent after successful completion of the upload.
The Board said the new process would be particularly beneficial during periods when CBT centres experience heavy patronage, long queues and network challenges.
JAMB described the development as another step in its digital transformation and efforts to reduce unnecessary physical visits and paperwork.
