RHI Supports Families of 1,638 Fallen Police Officers, Military Personnel

The Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) Social Investment Programme of the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has provided financial support to families of security personnel who died in the line of duty.
The support was presented on Thursday at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, in a ceremony witnessed by the Inspector General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu.

According to the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Aniete Iniedu, the second edition of the initiative focused on families of security personnel who lost their lives since the beginning of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

“In total, one thousand six-hundred and thirty-eight (1,638) families of deceased police officers received financial empowerment packages designed to help rebuild their livelihoods and cater to their dependents,” the statement said.

The ceremony was attended by First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, Wife of the Vice President Hajia Nana Shettima, Wife of the Senate President Mrs Ekaette Unoma Akpabio, service chiefs, the President of the Police Officers Wives Association (POWA) and wives of heads of security agencies.

Delivering a vote of thanks on behalf of the Nigeria Police Force and the Armed Forces, IGP Disu expressed appreciation to President Tinubu and the First Lady for the intervention.

He described the initiative as a demonstration of national gratitude and compassion towards families who lost their loved ones while serving the country.

The IGP said the Renewed Hope Initiative went beyond government policy by helping to restore dignity and support citizens during vulnerable periods.
Addressing the bereaved families, Disu assured them that the sacrifices of their loved ones would not be forgotten.

The Nigeria Police Force reaffirmed its commitment to the welfare of its personnel and continued support for families of deceased officers.
