Leaders and key stakeholders of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) and the African Democratic Congress (ADC) on Friday held a strategic meeting in Abuja as part of ongoing political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The high-level engagement brought together prominent figures from both parties to deliberate on emerging political dynamics and areas of collaboration.
In his remarks, PRP National Chairman, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, expressed strong solidarity with the ADC over its ongoing dispute with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and other government institutions.
He condemned what he described as anti-democratic actions targeted at the ADC, warning that such developments could undermine Nigeria’s democracy and threaten national stability.
Responding, ADC National Chairman, Senator David Mark, appreciated the support from the PRP, noting that it remains the only political party to publicly stand by the ADC during the current challenges.
Mark expressed optimism that the relationship between both parties would continue to grow, with a shared focus on advancing national interest and democratic values.
The meeting, observers say, reflects a broader effort by opposition parties to build alliances and strengthen their positions ahead of the 2027 polls.
Also in attendance were ADC National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi; PRP National Publicity Secretary, Muhammed Ishaq; Salihu Lukman, and other senior party officials.
The gathering underscored a renewed commitment by both parties to unity, resilience, and the consolidation of Nigeria’s democratic process.
