Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has issued a stern warning to individuals and groups he described as “conflict entrepreneurs,” cautioning against attempts to politicise insecurity or destabilise the state.
Speaking on Monday during a State Security Council meeting at Sir Kashim Ibrahim House in Kaduna, the governor declared that his administration would take firm and decisive action against any threat to peace and stability.
“We are not unaware of those who seek to test our resolve. We are monitoring developments closely and we are prepared to act,” he said, stressing that Kaduna would not revert to “a past defined by violence, fear and division.
”Reaffirming his constitutional duty to safeguard lives and property, Sani said his government’s security strategy prioritises prevention through intelligence gathering and strong inter-agency collaboration.
He noted that the Kaduna Peace Model remains central to the state’s approach, describing it as an inclusive, intelligence-driven framework that encourages community participation and early detection of threats.
According to the governor, enhanced intelligence capabilities have enabled security agencies to proactively identify and dismantle criminal networks before they escalate, while also strengthening coordination among stakeholders.
He, however, warned that the evolving security landscape—especially as the country approaches sensitive political periods—requires increased vigilance to prevent opportunistic actors from exploiting divisions within communities.
Sani commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for sustained federal support through ongoing security reforms and improved coordination, and also praised the Minister of Defence, Christopher Musa, for his contributions. The governor further lauded the efforts of the armed forces, police, Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and other agencies, noting their continued sacrifices under challenging conditions.
He also acknowledged the role of traditional rulers, religious leaders, and community stakeholders, describing their grassroots influence as vital to conflict prevention and trust-building across the state.
