Young Interior Designer Killed by Ex-Boyfriend in Lagos
A young interior designer, Deborah Moses, popularly known as Deborah Porsche, has been brutally murdered in Lagos, allegedly by her ex-boyfriend months after their breakup.
The tragic incident, which occurred late Wednesday night, has triggered outrage from family members, neighbours, and rights activists, who are demanding swift justice.
According to reports, the suspect, identified as Lintex from Otukpo, Benue State, disguised himself as a dispatch rider to gain access to Deborah’s estate. When security operatives became suspicious, he allegedly scaled the fence, cut the gas pipe in an attempt to trigger an explosion, and eventually forced his way into her apartment.
Inside, he reportedly stabbed Deborah multiple times, leading to her death.
A relative disclosed that Deborah ended the relationship over a year ago but had faced repeated threats from the suspect.
“He kept saying things like, ‘If I don’t have you, nobody will. If I don’t marry you, blood will flow,’” the family member recounted.
Deborah, who had just completed her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme and was beginning to build her career, had been trying to avoid persistent calls and advances from him before her tragic death.
Neighbours managed to restrain the suspect after the attack and handed him over to the police. He is currently in custody, while family members and activists insist the case must not be swept under the carpet.
