President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday emerged as the first aspirant to obtain the presidential nomination form of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as the party officially commenced the sale of expression of interest and nomination forms ahead of the 2027 general election.
The President, represented by the lawmaker for Ikeja Federal Constituency, James Faleke, paid the sum of N100 million to secure the form shortly after the exercise opened.
The nomination form was presented at the APC national secretariat in Abuja by the party’s National Organizing Secretary, Sulaiman Argungu.
The ruling party had earlier fixed the cost of its presidential nomination form at N100 million, a decision that attracted criticism from civil society organisations prior to the commencement of sales.
As of the time of filing this report, no other aspirant had obtained the form.
Further details are expected.
