The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State have exchanged sharp words following an opposition summit in Ibadan.
The PDP accused the APC of hypocrisy, stating it cannot “rewrite history simply because it is now inconvenient.”
It defended Governor Seyi Makinde, insisting he “did not call for violence” but used history as a warning.
However, the APC dismissed the gathering, describing participants as lacking seriousness.
“Their antics do not move us… President Tinubu will not lose sleep,” the party said.
The APC also criticised Makinde, calling him “a naive and deceitful political player.”
Both parties traded accusations of political manipulation as tensions ahead of the 2027 elections continue to build.
