ABUJA — President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed Nigeria’s solidarity with Gulf nations affected by the fallout of the US/Israel-Iran conflict, pledging the country’s continued support for peace and global stability.

The President made the declaration on Thursday at the State House, Abuja, while receiving Letters of Credence from newly appointed ambassadors and high commissioners, including envoys from Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

Tinubu specifically expressed support for countries in the Gulf region, including the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman and Jordan, commending their resilience and restraint amid recent tensions.

“The Federal Republic of Nigeria expresses its full solidarity with your countries in the face of recent attacks. We will always strive for peace and stability across the world,” Tinubu said, adding that global tranquillity remains essential for development.

The President noted that Nigeria remains committed to strengthening bilateral and multilateral cooperation with partner nations in pursuit of peace, security, and shared prosperity.

During the ceremony, Tinubu received Letters of Credence from envoys of several countries, including Lebanon, Sudan, Namibia, Rwanda, Somalia, Argentina, and Congo, describing their appointments as a reflection of trust and diplomatic goodwill.

He urged the diplomats to deepen engagement with Nigeria, highlighting the country’s ongoing economic reforms aimed at positioning it as a competitive destination for investment and innovation.

“Nigeria values the bonds of friendship we share. We are committed to deepening these ties for the mutual prosperity of our peoples,” he said.
The President also underscored Nigeria’s role in regional and continental stability, reaffirming its commitment to the principles of the Economic Community of West African States, particularly in defending constitutional order, promoting economic integration, and addressing security challenges in the Sahel.

He stressed that global challenges—including climate change, terrorism, and shifting geopolitical dynamics—require collective action and stronger international cooperation.

Tinubu assured the envoys of full support from the Federal Government and encouraged them to explore opportunities across Nigeria beyond Abuja, noting the country’s cultural diversity and economic potential.

Speaking on behalf of the diplomats, the Ambassador of Qatar expressed appreciation for the reception and pledged to strengthen diplomatic and economic relations with Nigeria during their tenure.
