IBADAN- Presidential aspirant on the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, has urged opposition parties to unite ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking on the sidelines of the National Opposition Summit in Ibadan, he warned that Nigeria’s mounting challenges require a collective response.
According to his campaign organisation, “He stressed that unity among opposition forces is no longer optional, but imperative.”
“Nigeria is at a defining moment,” Hayatu-Deen said.
He added: “The deepening insecurity, the crushing cost of living and the steady erosion of democratic space demand a collective response. This is not about personal ambition, it is about national rescue.”
He cautioned that disunity would only prolong hardship, urging leaders to embrace collaboration and shared purpose.
Hayatu-Deen held consultations with key figures including Governor Seyi Makinde, Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi and Rotimi Amaechi, as well as summit conveners Prof. Jerry Gana and Kashim Imam.
He noted that 2027 presents an opportunity for national reset, stressing that leaders must prioritise national interest.
“Nigerians are looking for leadership that is empathetic, unifying and capable of delivering real change,” he said.
