INEC Confirms David Mark as ADC National Chairman, Ends Leadership Crisis
ABUJA – The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially recognized the new leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), with former Senate President, Senator David Bonaventure Mark, confirmed as the party’s National Chairman.
The development, reflected in the updated particulars of political we parties on INEC’s website on Wednesday, brings an end to months of internal leadership tussle that had threatened the stability of the opposition party.
According to INEC’s publication, the newly constituted National Working Committee (NWC) of the ADC will be led by Sen. Mark, while former Osun State Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, was named the National Secretary.
Other members include Dr. Mani Ibrahim Ahmad as National Treasurer, Akibu Dalhatu as National Financial Secretary, and former Edo State Governor, Prof. Oserheimen Aigberaodion Osunbor, as National Legal Adviser.
Political observers believe the recognition marks a turning point for the ADC, with stakeholders optimistic that the new leadership will stabilize the party and reposition it ahead of the 2027 general elections.
