New Anambra CP Takes Security Stakeholders’ Engagement to Nnewi

The newly deployed Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, CP Nnanna Oji Ama, has held a strategic security stakeholders’ meeting with residents and key stakeholders from Anambra South Senatorial District in Nnewi.

The meeting, held at Anaedo Hall, Nnewi, formed part of the command’s renewed strategy of strengthening community-based and intelligence-led policing across the state.

The engagement brought together traditional rulers, political and community leaders, youth groups, religious bodies, business leaders, sister security agencies and other stakeholders.

As part of his activities in the area, Oji Ama paid a courtesy visit to the traditional ruler of Nnewi, Igwe Kenneth Orizu III, and also met with Chairman of Innoson Group, Chief Innocent Chukwuma.

The meeting provided an opportunity for stakeholders to identify emerging security challenges, exchange intelligence and develop practical strategies for improving public safety in Anambra South.

Oji Ama said effective policing required the support and partnership of residents.
He assured the people that the command remained committed to protecting lives and property, preventing crime and maintaining peace across the state.

The police commissioner also said the stakeholders’ meeting would be held regularly and encouraged residents to participate actively in the engagements.

Stakeholders from the seven local government areas in Anambra South — Aguata, Ekwusigo, Ihiala, Nnewi North, Nnewi South, Orumba North and Orumba South — attended the meeting.

Igwe Orizu pledged the support of his palace and cabinet to the police command in its efforts to tackle insecurity.

Chukwuma commended the commissioner for choosing Anambra South as part of his engagements with communities across the state.
