The National Chairman of the Peoples Redemption Party, PRP, Dr Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, has questioned the simultaneous absence of President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima from Nigeria.
Baba-Ahmed raised the issue on Monday in Abuja at the first national summit of opposition political leaders.
He asked who was responsible for governance while both the President and Vice President were outside the country.
According to him, it was unprecedented for Nigeria to have both its President and Vice President out of the country at the same time.
“Who is in charge now?” Baba-Ahmed asked.
He also alleged that President Tinubu travelled abroad in an attempt to prevent the possible release of documents concerning him by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI.
The PRP chairman did not provide evidence for the allegation during his remarks.
His comments came amid renewed political controversy surrounding calls for the release of alleged FBI-related documents ahead of the 2027 elections.
