Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, on Wednesday signed into law the revised 2025 appropriation bill of N43.29 billion recently passed by the State House of Assembly.
The signing ceremony, held at Government House, Birnin Kebbi, was witnessed by the Speaker of the Assembly, Alhaji Usman Muhammad-Zuru, and other lawmakers.
Governor Idris commended the legislature for its collaborative spirit, describing the cordial relationship between both arms of government as a major driver of development in the state.
“I appreciate the House of Assembly for being alive to its responsibilities and working closely with the executive for the betterment of our people,” Idris said. “Since the inception of this administration, we have not had any disagreements with them, and everything we bring to the House goes through due process and scrutiny.”
Earlier, Speaker Muhammad-Zuru pledged the Assembly’s continued partnership with the executive in promoting growth across the state. He explained that the revised budget was thoroughly debated to reflect current fiscal realities and Kebbi’s development priorities.
The Speaker also announced that the House, following a motion by Hashimu Usman (Yauri–APC), approved the renaming of the newly built Government Girls Secondary School, Tsamiya, Tundi, Yauri LGA, after the Emir of Yauri, Dr. Muhammad Zayyanu-Abdullahi. The school will now be known as Sarki Muhammad Zayyanu-Abdullahi Girls Secondary School, Tsamiya.
Muhammad-Zuru added that the Assembly’s passage of the revised bill and its transmission to the governor was in line with the provisions of the 1999 Constitution (as amended).
