The Accord Party has distanced itself from a coalition meeting of opposition parties held in Ibadan, insisting it neither attended nor endorsed any resolutions from the gathering.
In a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Joseph Omorogbe, the party described its inclusion in reports as misleading.
“It is imprudent and unjust to include a political party in a coalition it was not a part of,” the statement read.
The party emphasised that no official representative attended the meeting.
“Accord is not aware of the coalition meeting and did not send any member let alone endorse the resolutions,” it said.
It warned that such actions could overheat the political environment ahead of the 2027 elections.
“Accord demands that its name be expunged immediately,” the statement added.
