Gov Bago to construct N5b Worth of Classrooms/Hostels for Nigeria College of Aviation Minna

The Governor of Nigeria State, Muhammed Umaru Bago of  has pledged to construct classrooms and hostels to facilitate the reactivation of mini Campus at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport in Minna, the state capital.

Declaring the sum of N5 billion naira for the smooth take off of the project, when he received the management of the Nigerian College of Aviation Zaria on a visit at the International Airport in Minna, said  when completed, the project  would cut down travel expenses incurred in sending children abroad to study aviation-related courses.

“We are aware of the cost in sending children abroad to study aviation- related courses but this project when completed will cut down a lot of expenses incured by government and even parents of the beneficiaries,” Bago remarked.

He appreciated the team for the visit adding that his administration remains desirous to make the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport Minna a hub in aviation and agriculture.

The Rector of the Nigerian College of Aviation Zaria, Dr Danjuma Adamu Ismail had earlier commended the  Governor for the giant stride taken in remodelling the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport in Minna to a global standard.

According to him, “the College of Aviation has a long-standing relationship with the Niger State government which resulted in having a mini campus at the airport and running some programmes.

“Reviving the campus will strengthen the partnership with the state government and will be of significant impact not only in terms of personnel training but also in expertise in agro-aviation business, among others,” he declared.

Dr. Ismail noted that the College which was established in 1964 has since expanded and now has six schools including Flight, Air Traffic Controllers, Aeronautical Telecommunications Engineering, Airport Emergency and Training, as well as Aircraft Aviation Management School.

Governor Bago led the visitors to inspect the aviation fuel depot and the housing unit along the airport pointing out that the housing units will be demolished to pave way for a more enhanced housing unit to address the housing deficit.
