Senate Minority Leader and representative of Benue South Senatorial District, Senator Abba Moro, has donated another 50 motorcycles to youths in vulnerable Local Government Areas of the zone to support community efforts against insecurity.
The motorcycles were presented to the beneficiaries on Wednesday by Moro’s Senior Legislative Aide to the Senate President, George Alli.
The donation came less than two weeks after the senator provided 100 motorcycles to security formations in Benue South to strengthen their operations against insecurity.
Presenting the motorcycles, Alli said the latest intervention was aimed at improving the capacity of youths in affected communities to respond to security challenges and help protect lives and property.
He urged the beneficiaries to use the motorcycles strictly for the purpose for which they were provided.
According to him, the motorcycles would improve mobility and enable the youths to support security agencies and community structures in monitoring vulnerable areas.
Alli also urged the beneficiaries to take ownership of the initiative and ensure the motorcycles were not diverted for personal or commercial use.
The beneficiaries expressed appreciation to Moro, saying the improved mobility would enable them to contribute more effectively to efforts to secure their communities.
